Cheryl Munkascy Cheryl Munkascy

is co-owner and director of the Westerville Center for the Arts.  She is a vocal teacher in voice and drama.  Her range of expertise includes performance coaching, vocal techniques, developing performers, and staging music and show productions.  Cheryl coached the 1990 grand prize Star Search winner and 2001’s Miss Ohio.  She, herself, was the winner of the talent competition for the Miss Northeast Ohio Miss America pageant.

Cheryl taught voice at the University of Akron for three years, and at Otterbein College , one of the most acclaimed drama schools in the nation, for seven years.  She directed the Otterbein show choir Opus Zero.  She is a past member of the CANTARI SINGERS of Columbus .

As a member of Actor’s Equity, NATS, and the American Association of University Professors, Cheryl has over 45 musicals to her credit with numerous leads.  She has worked on stage with such stars as Mickey Rooney, Betty White, John Davidson, Shirley Jones, Roberta Peters, and many others.  Performing with the Kenley Players for 10 years, Cheryl toured throughout the Midwest with additional performances in Atlanta, and Maine .

As a songwriter, Cheryl released her debut Gospel album in 1983, entitled He’s the Light of My Life.  Her performances include international appearances in oratorios, concerts, recitals, and in churches.  She currently co-hosts Theatre Caffette and performs concerts and original musicals with her husband, Michael.
